Every year I’m proud to be a student at Marymount University. And it’s all because of Portfolio in Motion. Our annual fashion show not only showcases our amazing student designers, but also shows all of the hard work of our students behind the scenes – technical, backstage, and public relations. I also get to see a ton of my friends walk down the runway, it’s like they’re completely different people when they’re modeling. Love it.
We also have a Designer of the Year. Past designers have been Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors, and Eileen Fisher. This year the award was given to Tadashi Shoji. He’s a great designer, and he’s so knowledgable about the industry! It’s really awesome that our design students get to sit down with the Designer of the Year to talk about their designs and give advice about the industry. It’s definitely something that makes Marymount’s fashion program unique.
I can’t believe I only have one more PIM show to experience before I’m a Marymount Alumni, so so so weird!
