On March 21st, I watched Style Talk Live on Google+ with Rachel Zoe, Joe Zee, Ken Downing, and Coco Rocha. For those of you who don’t know, here’s what they do:
Rachel Zoe – Fashion stylist/designer
Joe Zee – Creative Director, ELLE
Ken Downing – Fashion Director, Neiman Marcus
Coco Rocha – Model
They gave a ton of tips for Spring trends, especially trends that will easily transition into Fall! Here’s Part One of what I learned during Style Talk Live.
We all love comfy flats. Whether we’re walking to our next class across campus, or trying to get to a lunch date 10 blocks away, we need a go-to (or more) pair of flats. And of course this pair needs to be stylish. That’s where the loafer comes in. Ken described the loafer as that “chic, twisted preppy” trend, which is also a trend that will bring you directly into Fall – thanks to the “tomboy” trend being all over the runway at NYFW. Next, the flat with the chunky mid-heel. No, not kitten heels – think Janey flat from J. Crew.
3. Printed denim
Rachel really isn’t on board with the printed denim trend. But let’s face it, they’re everywhere. Florals, striped, polka dots – everyone has at least one pair. Ken, Coco and Joe all agreed that it’s a trend that will not last, but everyone should still embrace them while they’re here.
Are loafers and printed denim your style?
