Tis the Season

November and December are probably my two favorite months, and I think you all may know why: the holidays are here! As soon as November hits, Starbucks has their famous Christmas cups ready to be served!

Thanksgiving is the best holiday: food and family, how could you get anything better? This year’s Thanksgiving was a little hectic due to my work schedule (#retailprobs). I needed to be back at my store by 11am on Friday to work an eight hour shift! Luckily, my mom, sister and her boyfriend drove back down to DC with me and stayed until Sunday (more on that weekend in an upcoming post!)

While I home home, it was great! We always do Thanksgiving at my aunt and uncle’s house in Eastchester, NY. We get there about 10am, so we can catch a little of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. By this time, my aunt already has the antipasti out and the eating begins — we are such an Italian family!

My cousins begin arriving shortly after we do, and I couldn’t be more excited to see my two baby cousins, Madeline and Charlie. The holidays are so much better when these two are running around!

Every year, I have so much to be thankful for. Ever since I came to Marymount, I’ve learned to be extra thankful for my home in NYC. This year, after Hurricane Sandy, I was so much more appreciative of my health, family, friends, and my home. I cannot wait to be back there in just three weeks!

A comment from you? How exciting! Thanks for reading today's post. xO
